These are the settings I use so that it uses the same settings every time; and doesn’t take time to load fonts.

Keep same settings every time:

File >> Preferences >> Window Management >> Reset Saved Window Positions to Default Values

Also uncheck the box that saves window values on exit.

Restart GIMP.

No Load Fonts:

Add the command (3 dashes): –no-fonts

in the “Target” box of the shortcut that goes to gimp

You can get to this by right-clicking the shortcut and going to properties.  Note: you won’t be able to do text
