The registry is like a menu for windows settings. You can create script files (similiar to HTML) it might use windows scripting host and run in Internet Explorer.
See this post from a blog on how to edit the bubble screen saver registry settings with HTA. http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/window-on-windows/unlocking-the-bubbles-screen-savers-hidden-settings-in-vista/632
HTA could probably be combined with AutoHotkey to rapidly code or script apps

Some new browser versions track your location (geolocation) by gefault…
Firefox Quick disable steps — 1. about:config, accept button; 2. type geo and disable it
Chrome: Options, select the Under the Hood tab and, in the Privacy section, click the Content settings button;
do not track

Firefox 10 (9.01?) now appears to install plugins without the users consent.
Here are links that allow you to ID where plugins are located on your machine (didn’t work very well for me) to manually find and remove them http://www.ghacks.net/2010/10/02/how-to-remove-plugins-from-firefox/
Think I found some plugins in a windows system directory…
and to control the ‘feature’ this might help:

I think I had to manually add the string

You might want to make sure the plugins are up to date on the addon tab, it will take you to a mozilla website to check.
